Happy {Family} Friday
On a normal week, my massive closet clean-out would take the cake as my number one favorite activity: the benefits of a well-edited closet are just about endless.
But this isn’t a normal week. It’s a crazy special week that I’ve been looking forward to for months.
On Wednesday three of my favorite people in the world came to visit (with two more on the way!).
Though they were wondering who the crazy lady waving out the car window was, they were happily surprised that I belonged to them.
As they got in the car, I realized that it didn’t matter where we went. On a whim we could have hightailed it to L.A. with just the clothes on my back and I wouldn’t have batted an eyelash. That’s what spending time with my people does to me.
What’s the Fun Fuss?
Hanging out with people you love is like having an ace in the hole.
It can take any normal day and make it extraordinary.
It can take any sadness and make it lighter.
And it can take any happiness and turn it into a disco ball party of fun.
Who Are Your Peeps?
We all have our crowd – relatives or not – who are our family. They could be the ones we were born with, or perhaps they’ve been acquired like fine vintage furniture along the way. Either way, you know your fam when you see them.
Hanging out with them creates a tapestry of happy.
That nail salon you pass every day and get a mani/pedi at sometimes, is now the place where you had part of your Girls Day Out with your niece and sis. You picked the polish for each other and had to go along with it no matter how crazy the color. You giggled your way to the cupcake shop and bought way more than you could eat in one sitting.
And that’s only the tip of the G-rated, (as little ones are part of the posse) iceberg of fun.
The thing I love best about your people, is that fun happens naturally. No pressure. No awkward pauses. Just pure undiluted joy.
On this beautiful summer weekend, I’m sending you wishes for many happy moments with your posse.
If you need us, we’ll be at the playground!
Sara
